GETGREEN SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION TRAINING COURSE

GETGREEN VIETNAM PROJECT
GetGreenVietnam project aims to promote sustainable consumption in Vietnam, and focuses on promoting sustainable lifestyles within average income populations in urban areas. The project is sponsored by the SWITCH-Asia program of the European Union, and is implemented by the partners:Delft University of Technology – Netherlands (TU Delft), Vietnam National Cleaner Production Centre (VNCPC), and the Asian Institute of Technology – Vietnam(AIT-VN).
Mission:
to contribute to the improvement of sustainable consumption habits of Vietnamese people;
to build the capacity for consumer organizations and government agencies to persuade and assist consumers in choosing sustainable consumption behavior;
Currently, the project has initiated a training program for 1000 participants, who will be“smart consumers” and “change agents” for the environment in the field of sustainable consumption. You can become a “change agent”, having influence on your community, to create a network of green living deeper than Vietnam,towards a truly green, clean and sustainable society.
The training course is conducted by trainers from the Center for Development of Community Initiative and Environment (C&E). C&E activities aim to support and promote participation and build capacity for organizations/community groups to better address environmental issues.

When participating in this training program, you will have the opportunity to:
gain skills through workshops and fieldtrips;
acquire practical knowledge about sustainable lifestyles, consumption and work;
get introduced to sustainable goods, products manufacturers and service providers;
talk to experts in the field of sustainable consumption and lifestyles;
gain certification by the GetGreen Vietnam Project following full and active participation;
gain experience and skills studying and engaging in English;

Training course information:
Number of participants: 25-30 students (18-25 years old).
Time (estimated): from Nov 4th, 2014 to Dec 9th, 2014

Introduction – Nov 4th, 2014
Indoor lesson 1 – Nov 11th, 2014
Fieldtrip 1 – Nov 15th or 16th, 2014
Indoor lesson 2 – Nov 25th, 2014
Fieldtrip 2 – Nov 29th or 30th, 2014
Conclusion – Dec 9th, 2014
Venue: Ha Noi (specific location will be announced to the selected students)
Tuition: The course is free, the project will pay the fieldtrip costs and provide tea-breaks during training lessons. Attendees will be responsible for their own transportation to the training venue.
The entirety of the course instruction and engagement will be in English.

Candidate Qualifications:
Candidates nominated for this program should:
be University students with an interest in sustainability and the environment;
be able to commit to all 6 training lessons;
be conversant in English (any certification to prove your English is encouraged, but not compulsory);
live and study in Hanoi
